Bring Decodius into your station

Model, voice and connection to Decodium: three parts to configure with your chosen version in mind.

01

Choose the right channel.

In the elisir80 repository, stable v1.5 and prerelease v1.12 Alpha are separate channels. Check your chosen release’s packages and notes: the current source may contain features added after a packaged release.

02

Configure the model and voice.

The README describes Ollama with a local or cloud model. Alpha instructions and the code also document compatible cloud providers. The edge-tts voice path requires Internet access: choosing a local model does not automatically make the entire experience offline.

03

Connect Decodium state reading.

Decodius reads status, frequencies, mode and decodes through the web services configured in Decodium. The Windows guide describes a same-PC setup; macOS and Raspberry guides also provide host configuration through a file. Use your platform’s documentation.

04

Add commands when you need them.

Reading and commands use separate paths. Verify state reading first, then enable the control functions you need, following your version’s access settings. Alpha options, including CW commands, require compatible Decodium and radio support.

SECRET CONTACT / 9H1SR73.

Greetings from Malta.

You found the station’s little secret. The best part of radio is the person on the other side of the signal.
